Update.....

Welllllllllllll not much has happened since I last posted (sorry its been a while) a lot more people have gotten their dates and the odd few still are on the waitlist. I did get my Disney pack a couple of weeks back with the offical job offer letter and ofcourse the Disney look book. I had to pay for a new passport (BLOODY £120 :@) and my CRB check which im hoping to get in the next couple of weeks, I have not booked my flight or insurance as im just focusing on trying to save as much. Of course I have been researching little things like sim cards to buy for my phone (had mine unlocked in February so it should be fine with a US sim) and other bits and pieces but Im in the process of moving house and putting all of my attention on that but I reckon by end of next month I will have gotton the majority of my stuff done :)

Yummy Jobs opened up thier applications for summer 2013 alot earlier as they we schedueld to open end of november and the closed just last week. Good Luck to those who have applied and hope you guys can join me :)

The wait is over.......For some atleast

Okay so it has been a long four month wait and with this being the last week of june the wait for us was almost over.

So on monday I went out with a friend to town and then my Grans to keep her company (she had an op on her foot so has been house bound as she cant walk. I was on the Metro and refreshed my emails on my phone and seen THE EMAIL had finally come, I was all alone and didnt want to open it just incase it was bad news so I ended up running and powerwalking the usual 20 minute walk. This was an inital mistake as I had on shoes that were a littlebig and kept falling off lol.

So I got to my grans and then stood in the kitchen so I could read the email (I started crying before I opened it which I dont know why). I recived this

Dear Anna,

After reviewing your application and interview we are delighted to be the first to say

Congratulations

You have been offered a place on Disney’s Cultural Representative Program.

Your role in the show will be in Merchandise.

Your program with Disney will commence on January 29th 2013 and conclude on January 24th 2014.

In order to accept your position please reply directly to this email by no later than Friday 29th June 2012.
I CRIED AND CRIED AND CRIED OMG IM GOING TO WORK IN WALT DISNEY WORLD FLORIDA OHHHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYY GAAWWWWWWWWWD.

So I rang friends and family who I felt sorry for as the could not understand me as I was crying and then went to my fave itallian restaurant

It still really has not sunk in yet but I have started all my research in preparation.

I looked on facebook to see what was going on with my other Disney buddies and it seems around 15 of us got dates from Jan to June (None in may for some reason) and the rest got waitlisted for positions starting after June 2013 so I hope they all get dates as thet deserve it.

But anyway its 215 days till I go :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Much Love

Stillll Waiting ...................

Well its been a good few weeks since the f2f but I am trying to stay positive. One of the girls got an email off Yummy jobs last night last night and it seems at least 1 person a week is being offered a place so it sounds more promising. I did email yummy jobs but that was to change my availbility from july 1st to june 14th, not that it would change much but I am glad I let Becky know.

To be honest though I think about disney at least every day I am not a crazy as I was, which is helping a lot as time is moving fast as june is approaching. School has filled the Disney void at the moment, my design coursework final deadline is next friday then my 15 hour art exam is mid next month and then my last exam is June 13th so after then it will pretty much be DISNEY, DISNEY AND MORE DISNEY.

well you guys will no doubt read another blog of me whining in the next few weeks so for now, adios

THE EMAIL :O

First of all I MUST apologize at how long it has taken to actually tell you guys about the email.

It came to the three week's after the interview and there was no sight of an email, it could be right to say I was very much in a Disney Induced Coma. On March 9th I finished work at 9pm and done my usual routine which was check my emails and attempt to calculate in my tiny little brain how many more days they would make us wait. BUT an emailed awaited from Michelle at Yummy Jobs.

After recovering from shock I opened the email with my friend laura, which said.......

I HAVE BEEN WAITLISTED.. MORE WAITING..ARGGGGGGG.

At least it was not a no but it wasnt a yes either. To be honest at least 80% of us got the same email with a few no's and some yes(some people had to turned down places they had been offered for some reason.)

So we have to wait until end of June :( but fingers crossed for us all.

Face to Face

SOOOOOOOOO

I had my Face to Face interview yesterday in London at the Disney Head Offices. After finding people on Facebook I met up with them beforehand at Costa in Hammersmith so we could all go together. Walking into the entrance area and seeing everyone got my nerves going. We were escourted upstairs by security and taken to the cinema screen they have there. Jeff and Jill from Disney were there to greet us before starting the presentation, it was exactly the same as the one we seen in manchester/london pre-screen interviews but with some further detail and cheesy videos.

After the presentation we were given our times (mine being 4pm and the last being 4:20) and told we could do whatever we want till then but were told we should be there 20 mins before so our paper work could be checked. So I had from 10:40 to 3:20 before my interview. I had dinner with my Dad and drank way to much coke and hot chocolate with fellow interviewees and just talked about what was going on.

I went back to the offices for 3:30 for my paper work to be checked and discovered they were running behind on the interviews so I wasnt seen until 4:50. I got Jill who was really lovley and was paired up with someone (who I met in Costa via Facebook earlier that morning so I knew her) We shook hands and had a laugh before the interview started. Jill asked us :-

What we did?
How we spent our spare time?
What roles could we see ourselves doing?
How we could cope with sharing rooms?

and asked questions in further detail to the ones above. It lasted 20 minutes which was a short amount of time but I feel I done my best and hope I done enough. We should find out before Monday next week according to Becky and Nick so yet again the wait continues.......

First Interview

Hi Guys,

Sorry I haven't blogged till now, but anyhoo im here now and LOTS has happened. So I had my first interview in Late January at Manchester Met University. All was well but there was way more people then I expected. We waited for Nick and Emma from Yummy Jobs to arrive and was then taken into a Lecture room and started off with a quiz about all things Disney and then had a powerpoint presentation which went into further detail about getting there, roles, living and earning and basically other things which came of intrest and were then given out interview times (mine being1:10 witht the last being around 4pm) As I stated in my last blog they have changed the phone interviews into group interviews with either Nick or Becky. I had Nick who was lovely and really laid back which pretty much calmed everyones nerves.

To start the interview we had to introduce eatchother to Nick and the rest of the group by telling everyone thier name, what they are currently doing and an intresting fact about them. After this Nick asked us a question and went around the table to for everyones answers and then everyone had extra time to chip in and discuss the question. Things we were asked were:-

Why we want to work at Disney?
What role we would be intrested in ?
What brands did we like and why?
What disney character would we be?

We were asked a lot more but these were the ones I could remember. The interview lasted around 40 minutes and I really loved it and met some fab people. Becky said we would find out the following Monday and so the anticipation began. At 7:20 pm that Monday after a gruelling day of waiting and refreshing my emails every 2 minutes I recived an email from Becky...........

I GOT THE NEXT INTERVIEW FOR FEBRUARY 13TH AT DISNEY HEAD OFFICES :D:D:D:D.
